Gulf Monetary Council board meets in Kuwait next Saturday
Kuwait, Board of the Gulf Monetary Council will hold a meeting next Saturday in the State of Kuwait which will be attended by the chiefs of monetary institutions and governors of the central banks of the member states.
The members states of the Gulf Monetary Council are the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait.
A statement made by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) said today that the Gulf Monetary Council board held its first meeting on March 30, 2010 following the ratification of the member states of the monetary union accord and putting the monetary council's statute into effect.
It added that the council's board in its upcoming meeting will go ahead with meeting the requirements of the next stage, most important of which is the finalization of the institutional and organizational structure of the council as the board have previously approved the council's budget.
Board of the Gulf Monetary Council holds six meetings at least every year according to the tenth article of the council's statute.
