Melkert calls the Political blocs to put Iraq over their interests
Najaf, The UN general Secretariat representative in Iraq, Ed Melkert, said that the UN will continue its support on uniting and maintaining relationships among the Iraqi parties in order to resolve the governmental crisis.
During a press conference with Melkert, after he met the Shiite Cleric Ayatollah Sistani in Najaf, and said "it's the time to unite all the political blocs based on the constitutional concepts, without any further conditions."

Melkert called all the political blocs to put the Unity of Iraq over their interests.
He gave no further details about his three hours meeting with Sistani, yet noting that, "the UN had the honor to meet Ayatollah Sistani."
Melkert has visited Najaf previously in May 5, a day after the declaring of the coalition between the State of Law and the National coalition.
