Maliki meets President Mubarak in Cairo today

Will focus on improving relations between the two countries and increase Egyptian investment in Iraq

On a regional tour that included Syria, Jordan and Iran, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki last night to the Egyptian capital of Cairo on an official visit one day.

A source familiar with Cairo's «morning» Prime Minister Maliki, who arrived in Cairo, accompanied by a large delegation, including Foreign Minister and a number of officials, was held upon his arrival to his residence at the presidential palace closed-door meeting his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Nazif and a number of officials.

He added that the Prime Minister will meet this morning with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, as it will discuss a number of topics of common interest, particularly the current situation in Iraq and efforts to form a government, as well as discuss ways to improve relations between the two countries and increase Egyptian investment in Iraq, noting that al-Maliki will meet also Secretary General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, before meeting his counterpart hold him clean at Cairo airport before leaving for Egypt.

The official spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Hossam Zaki said in a news conference attended by «morning» that dialogue Egyptian with any Iraqi politician, stems from the need to support the Iraqi brothers and advise them, as well as the importance that any political process or a combination government representative.
