Iraq regain its membership in the Organization of Arab cities after the break for more than 20 years old

Iraq regained its membership in the Arab Towns Organization, based in Kuwait after a hiatus of more than two decades.

The Information Office of the Municipality of Baghdad, told the independent press (Iba) came during the Iraq's participation in the fifteenth session of the Arab Towns Organization held under the slogan (cities of knowledge and the future of young people) in Kuwait City with a delegation from the Municipality of Baghdad where they discussed several topics and themes of the most prominent (Knowledge Cities economic and Youth) and (awareness and environmental education) as well as the axis (smart technology and electronic services) and the last axis (Heritage and youth).

He added that the representative of the Secretariat Bgdadmder Relations Department (Yasser Mohammad Fadel) conducted a series of meetings and discussions resulted in the restoration of Iraq's membership in the Organization of Arab cities as well as start Iraq's membership to the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute, based in the Saudi capital Riyadh and the addition of membership to the Board of Trustees of the Heritage Foundation, an institution dedicated the affairs of Antiquities and Heritage, based in Tunisia.

He noted that the representative of the secretariat of Baghdad, a series of meetings on the sidelines of the session with the secretary of the capital of Tunisia and the head of business development Albuldiallbannani where they were dealt with prospects of bilateral cooperation and ways to strengthen relations in order to serve common interests.

He said the representative on behalf of the Secretary Alomanpqam tradition of Baghdad Baghdad shield to Mr. (Abdul Aziz Al-Adsani) secretary-general of the Arab Towns Organization and Chairman of the Kuwait Municipality and the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs of Kuwait.

Iraq has been one of the founders of the Arab Towns Organization (1967) also hosted in the capital Baghdad, the Fourth Conference of the Organization (1974), which was held under the banner of a healthy environment for Arab Towns.
