Iraq participates in meeting of Arab Housing Ministers in Cairo

Dzii explained that "experts from the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction of Iraq participated in the technical committee that prepared the files that will be discussed during the meetings, including the conduct of the work of the unified Arab codes for construction."
They pointed out that "Iraq is the subject of codes in the footsteps of big steps, where shared by several committees with the Arab countries to determine the unified Arab codes and document unified Arab standards adopted in the construction sector."
The minister said that the Iraqi "Executive Office will also discuss the theme of Day of Arab Housing for the years 2011 and 2012 and who will be entitled (private sector participation in the provision of housing)," indicating that "Iraq is living large celebrations on the day of Arab Housing, which falls in the month of March of each in general."
The Dzii "in the context of follow-up on the gap between housing needs and the available supply of housing demand will be discussed and document inventory guide research centers working in the field of housing and construction Odh Arab Republic of Egypt on the Arab countries to benefit from and be guided by them."
On the subject of award of the Council of Arab Housing Ministers, and allocated in this year's "residential project, energy-saving and environment-friendly," said Dzii that he "will discuss this issue and Iraq will present the award to all government departments to choose a project appropriate and sent to the Secretariat General of the Arab League, especially after Iraq won the award last year and got one of the Iraqi engineers, and we hope that we get the award for the second time."
Iraq has suffered from the crisis of housing and infrastructure crumbling as a result of long years of siege and war, but his efforts in attracting capital and investors to Iraq sometimes collide security conditions where fluctuations.
Experts say that the Ministry of Construction and Housing failed to develop plans for the task of solving the problems of housing, and that Iraq needs more than 20 years to solve part of the crisis.
But the Housing Ministry confirmed that Iraq will solve the housing crisis by 2020, after the construction of two million housing units according to international standards adopted by the National Housing Policy.
