Arab foreign ministers meet in Sirte to prepare for the extraordinary summit

SIRTE, Libya, Arab foreign ministers huddled in this coastal city on Thursday to finalize the agenda of the extraordinary Arab summit due to convene here on Sunday.

The ministers are due to discuss two key items, namely improving the mechanism of joint Arab action and a proposal to bolster ties with regional neighbors.

The ministers are scheduled to hold a joint meeting with their African counterparts on Friday to map out the agenda of the second Afro-Arab summit due on Monday.

The Kuwaiti delegation at today's meeting is headed by Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Sabah, who arrived here late last night.

Other Kuwaiti delegates will include ambassador to Libya Mubarak Al-Adwani, Director of the Arab World Department Ambassador Jassem Al-Mubaraki, Director of the Ecocnomic Department at the Foreign Ministry Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled al-Sabah and Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim.
