Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari on Monday, September 20, gave Iraq speech to the United Nations Conference of the Development Goals for 2010 in the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Zebari pointed out to Iraq economic improvement which was achieved through a series of economic, finance and investment laws and contributed in increasing the Iraqi citizen income and improved his purchasing power and the level of social welfare.
He also pointed out to the objectives of the national development plan in the next five years, which will provide four million jobs in order to solve the problem of unemployment in Iraq.
Minister Zebari talked about the Iraqi government's efforts to improve the performance of the agricultural sector, education, strengthening social protection measures for women through the issuance of laws and equality in employment and developing the health sector.
