additional info. ~ September 6, 2010DOHA: Senior officials from finance, foreign, trade and business ministries from the GCC states will meet in Jeddah on Monday to finalise the draft of law that seeks to legitimise the regional customs union.
Imports coming from regions outside of the GCC will have to pay a uniform customs levy of five percent at the port of entry and all customs tariff and taxes on goods moving from one GCC country into the other will be exempted from any customs duty, surcharge or tax once the proposed law is brought into force.

GCC Ministerial Council to Meet on September 6, 2010
Riyadh,- HE GGC Secretary General Abdurrahman bin Hamad Al Attiyah said the GCC Ministerial Council along with the financial , economic, trade, and industrial cooperation committees will hold a joint meeting in Jeddah, next Monday, September 6, to finalize the Customs Union requirements.
