Kirkuk Governor meets United States delegation

Kirkuk Governor Abdurrahman Mustapha met with Head of Kirkuk Provincial Reconstruction Team and the deputy commander of US forces in Northern Iraq . and During the meeting held in the provincial divan, both sides discussed the general situation related to the Kirkuk province in terms of security, political and services.

The US delegation praised the general situation in the Kirkuk province as well as the role of Kirkuk Governor for keeping balance between the components of Kirkuk people.

Concerning the census process, the Kirkuk governor emphasized on the significance of the process saying “census is a scientific process and it has no any relation with the politic we can depend on it for many reconstruction and developmental projects and etc… adding that the delay of the formation of the new Iraqi government will have a negative effect on the country in particular Kirkuk since the local elections haven’t been held in the province.

Also both sides pointed to the strategic projects to be carried out in the province on the allotments of petrodollar. In this regard the Kirkuk Governor said that the Kirkuk administration has a complete plan to the projects of petrodollar announcing that they will form a committee to visit Baghdad to present the plan to the concerned sides for approval.

On his part, the US delegation emphasized on the continuation of the support of Iraqi security forces in particular on overcoming the security situation and training the Iraqi forces saying the Iraqi forces have witnessed great progress and development and the US forces will continue on its support for these forces.

On his part, the Kirkuk Governor called on the US delegation to offer more services to Kirkuk people especially in the fields of service projects and coordination with the concerned sides, noting that the Kirkuk province witnessed huge destruction and negligence by the former regime so it needed to offer more service projects ,saying our main goal is to offer services to the people without any exception ,and their administration is faraway away from the politic.
