Meanwhile, the U.S. assistant secretary-general of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli told a news conference attended by «morning» at the end of the Arab League Council at the level of delegates, which lasted for two days to prepare the agenda for the Arab ministerial meeting and the draft resolutions to be presented to it: that the meetings discussed more 27 items of the most important developments in the Iraqi arena, pointing out that there is a plea for Iraqi politicians to work to speed up the formation of a government of national unity because this is in the interest of Iraq and Arab countries as well as the entire region.
He added that the permanent delegates discussed the issues of political and regional dimension of Iraq and ways to assist Iraq in all areas, and rehabilitation of Iraqi forces from Arab states to be present on the Iraqi arena, especially with near the exit of foreign troops at the end of 2011, which leaves the field wide, and places the responsibility on Arab countries to help Iraq carry out its functions national.
