Announced the government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh approve the establishment of a project to transport Iraqi crude oil to export terminals in the Mediterranean coast through Syrian territory to serve the common interests of both countries.
And the transfer of a government statement, Dabbagh said it had been agreed "to establish a strategic cooperation and technical and economic in the transfer and export of crude oil between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic."
He added that "the proposed transfer of crude oil that is consistent with the heading of the Iraqi government to develop the oil sector and promoting the levels commensurate with the actual needs of the current to increase energy production and export of crude oil, which effectively contribute to the construction and reconstruction in Iraq."

(Construction - operation - transfer) in both countries where the project consists of pipeline capacity of 1.25 million barrels / day crude oil pipeline customary with all the necessary facilities and line pipe capacity of 1.5 million barrels / day for the transfer of heavy oil with all the necessary facilities and line gas card suitable facilities of the former two lines to secure the fuel necessary to run the pumping stations along the route of the lines in both countries. "
The Syrian side, according to Ali al-Dabbagh "provide pathways for the three proposed lines to the Iraqi border - from Syria into the Syrian coast and parallel to current lines for the transfer of light oil, returning to the Syrian oil transportation and access to infrastructure currently available on this path."
