Intensified the dispute about the general census of population, with increased concerns about the possible use of its outputs in the contentious political issues in the forefront of the issue of the disputed areas, accompanied by constitutional article 140, and 32days before the scheduled procedure.

Gave Maliki the word on the sidelines of an extended meeting held in Baghdad yesterday for a declaration of principles to work to fulfill the general census of population, in which he stressed that the census will be conducted in a timely manner, pointing out, saying: «should have been a census for some time, but there were excuses, the most important non-consciousness of the importance and necessity of National Merit, as well as security circumstances surrounding the country at the time and the challenges faced by the financial aspects that have hampered much of this process ». He said during the meeting which was attended by a large number of officials, including members of the House of Representatives, Ministers and Members of the Parliament of the Kurdistan region, in addition to the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations: «This causes the demise started preparing for the precise mechanisms through which we saw and we have high confidence that the census will be healthy and content of the results in the end».

Representatives of the provinces of Nineveh and Diyala, Anbar and Salahuddin, Arab and Turkmen of Kirkuk, held a meeting in Baghdad on Tuesday, which they affirmed that «the census on time will inevitably be the result of existing conditions to disrupt national unity and provoke disagreements and problems that may cause the impossibility to reach a solution to the political crisis now» . But the Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation Ali Baban stressed during the Conference, it is not possible to census data to find a settlement of the issues related to disputed areas, and prevent the Central Bureau of Statistics to provide any data obtained through a census of any question of law or judicial or publication of information regarding individuals or exchanged or published with other entities, as well as non-distributed or circulated, or used in any form without the consent of the individual, in addition to preventing the use of census data as the basis of any electoral register, or for any purposes related to any future referendum.

He called on the Deputy Special Envoy of the United Nations to Iraq to the need for a political consensus to receive the census participation and support of large-scale, describing the census as an important tool for development and government planning and meet the needs of the Iraqi people for the future.
