Kuwait to host Arab finance ministers meeting to setup mechanism to finance SME's (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) ...
CAIRO, The Director of Arab Administration in the Kuwaiti foreign ministry Ambassador Jassem Al-Mubarki said Tuesday that Kuwait was due to host a meeting of Arab finance ministers next November to establish mechanisms needed to execute the initiative by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on providing financial resources to small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs).
Al-Mubarki made his remarks to KUNA after meeting with Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa on fringe of his participation in meetings of the Arab League Permanent Representatives.
Al-Mubarki noted that half of the targeted amount, set at USD two billion, has been provided for the initiative since it was first launched in Kuwait Economic summit last year.
"That is why we're calling for such ministerial meeting in Kuwait next November, to review the executing mechanisms for this initiative," Al-Mubarki said, adding that the meeting will be attended by Secretary General Moussa.

Meanwhile, on the Arab League Permanent Representative meeting, the Kuwaiti diplomat said that discussion focused on current issues on the Arab and region, particularly developments in Iraq and the importance of forming a national unity government.
In response to whether Kuwait would participate in an Arab summit held in Iraq, Al-Mubarki expressed pleasure to see any Arab summit being held in Iraq, noting that "Kuwait supports holding the Arab summit in Iraq and will attend such summit."
