13 September, 2010American proposal reduces the powers of al-Maliki and gives it to Allawi
Sources close to U.S. administration officials involved in the file of Iraq came to political parties, a proposal to cut power to the Prime Minister, and transferred to the Political Council for security strategies, which is supposed to be occupied by Dr. Iyad Allawi, leader of the Iraqi list.
According to New York Times that the most important of these powers is to lead the armed forces and the files of security and intelligence services, also includes the proposed selection of Nuri al-Maliki as prime minister for a second term while reducing his powers, and form a tripartite alliance comprising the rule of law and a list of Coalition and Iraqi Kurdistan.
An official at the U.S. administration did not want to be named told the newspaper that the proposal involves changing the structure of government and the formation of a committee with powers to approve the appointment of military commanders and to study the state budget-and policy security in the country.
