Shawis presiding over a meeting to discuss the reality of the investment sector in Iraq

Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Nuri al-Shaways روژ special meeting Monday to discuss the reality of the investment sector and the work of the National Investment Commission in Iraq.

A statement by the Office of Shaways said the meeting brought together ministers of oil, planning, industry and minerals, and the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, chairman of the consultants in addition to the President of the National Investment Commission, and Adviser to the Minister of Finance, a representative of the Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works.

The statement noted that the committee considered the report submitted by the National Investment Commission on the status of the Commission's work and the most important investment projects and the obstacles and problems that impede the flow of investment and capital to Iraq.

He also discussed the housing projects and major project to build one million housing units throughout Iraq based on the proportion of population concentration, and the City Rasheed (Rasheed Camp), and City banks of Karbala, and the draft City of the Future in Baghdad, in addition to industrial investment, and electricity projects, and oil.

He also discussed the most important laws and decisions and the topics that are closely related to investment such as land, capital, facilities and customs and tax, taking into account the recommendations of various committees to amend some laws and decrees in order to facilitate and promote investment opportunities in Iraq.
