August 4, 2010Secretary-General of the United Nations: Iraq's new government confirmed its commitment to the inviolability of the borders of Iraq - Kuwait

Called on UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the new Iraqi government once it is formed to reaffirm their commitment to Security Council resolution No. 833 on the inviolability of the borders of Iraq - Kuwait.
Moon called the Iraqi government to be formed to grant this issue urgent attention in the event of Iraq's desire to get out of the wrath of Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.
He said in his quarterly report to the Security Council on the work of the United Nations Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), composed of 14 pages that were a matter requiring urgent attention is the need for Iraq's new government to make every effort to fulfill its commitment to Resolution No. 833 and the borders of Iraq, land and sea with Kuwait.
He said in the other vital things to make progress with regard to the draft maintenance of border signs between Kuwait and Iraq and the issue of Kuwaiti prisoners and stolen Kuwaiti property.
The secretary-general of the UN's commitment to the Government of Iraq and to provide its share of funding are vital to support the project after repeated postponements of the final stage of the maintenance work carried out by the UN operations, peacekeeping operations.
Meanwhile, Ban Ki-moon expressed concern over the delay in forming a new government in Iraq, noting that this would contribute to a growing sense of uncertainty in the country.
