The global economy seems to be spiraling out of control. Will we see the implementation of regional currencies by January 2011.The IMF's SDR rate will be adjusted by december 31, 2010.

It will be the perfect opportunity for the IMF to introduce new currencies to the basket. The IMF's Strauss and the UN's Stiglitz have said on numerous occassions that the yuan will become part of the SDR basket.

Also, interesting to note that exactly one year ago, during August, The IMF allocated SDRs to countries around the world. What happened with that? Nothing yet... but, if my suspicions are correct, when the IMF does adjust the SDR rate, then the allocated SDRs will be activated and will benefit all the countries by increasing their currency reserves.
