As always, I am few steps ahead of others!Muqtada Al-Sadr released a statement (image above) in reaction to the last explosion campaign.
This [bombing campaign] shows the contempt of the terrorists and their collaboration with the occupier in order to give it the argument to stop the alleged withdrawal, cooperating with the statements released by the government giving reason for the occupiers to stay for more than ten years.
Terrorism, claims the lives of hundreds of innocent people and government’s guns target the demonstrators and the occupation target the souls, the dignity and the independence of Iraq.
The government is arrogant, silent and satisfied with the bombings, adhering to government positions, despising the blood of the Iraqi people. The Iraqi people have become homeless, without water, and electricity … The occupiers enjoys Iraq’s territory, and government’s officials behind the green walls [Green Zone] enjoy its electricity.
Sadrist leader Al-Araji commented on the above statement saying:
The security vacuum in Iraq and to bring the private security companies to Iraqi territory is a renewed game by the American troops to pass a lot of issues that were not disclosed.
Few notes on the above:
It is very clear that Muqtada Al-Sadr doubts the U.S. withdrawal, in fact, one of his conditions to form a coalition with Allawi is that Al-Iraqiya should announce it’s rejection to the remaining U.S. forces.
Since Syria (cooperating with Turkey and Saudi Arabia) will hold Iraq conference after Ramadhan, and Maliki is not invited (unless he apologizes to Syria, just like Syria humiliated Lebanese leader Junblatt with the apology). The Sadrists role in the conference (hence … coming government) depends on how the U.S. will play nice with Syria
