Issawi urges Washington to activate strategic agreements with Iraq
BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Deputy Prime Minister Rafia al-Issawi on Monday called for activating the strategic agreements signed between Iraq and the United States in economic and scientific fields, according to a statement of his office.
“Al-Issawi received on Monday (Aug. 30) Army Gen. Raymond Odierno, commander of U.S. Forces Iraq,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The meeting tackled the latest developments in Iraq and the withdrawal of American combat troops,” it added.
“Issawi underlined the importance of activating the strategic agreements signed between Iraq and the United States in economic, cultural and scientific fields,” it said.
