Kirkuk Provincial Council: the census is in everyone's interest, despite reservations
Arbil, The Speaker of the governorate of Kirkuk Rizgar Ali on Monday, that the census in the city is in everyone's interest despite the existence of a reservation of a number of quarters.
The Office of the province to inform the Kurdistan News Agency (Akaniwz) announced today that "the remarks came during a meeting with Jonathan Turley, director of political affairs for the northern region of the U.S. Embassy."
The Rizgar on "the importance of conducting this process," .. and describing it as "the most important thing Iraq needs right now."
He explained that "delay in the conduct of the census was unjustly against democracy because the process is to find out the real basis for the country's population" .. he said, adding that "despite the existence of a reservation in the province of Kirkuk, about this process can only take place in the interest of everyone."
He criticized the "irresponsible campaign by some media organizations to put obstacles in front of the census by raising problems through statements tense around him.
Oppose the Arabs and Turkmen in Kirkuk, the census of population arguing of wrongdoing that led to change the demography of the province.
The oil-rich city of Kirkuk distance (255 km north of Baghdad), one of Iraq's provinces unstable security, and one of the disputed areas between the Kurdistan Regional Government in Arbil and the federal government in Baghdad.
