Barzani, Allawi talk about obstructions facing future gov''t

IRBIL, President of Iraq's Kurdistan region Masoud Barzani and former Iraqi Prime Minister and head of the Iraqiya List Ayad Allawi held a meeting here Sunday with talks mainly focusing on measures to overcome obstacles facing the formation of the future government.

Media Advisor at Barzani's office Faisal Al-Dabbad told KUNA that the meeting also touched on the current political situation in Iraq and the issues obstructing the formation of the future government.

Allawi announced earlier to the press that talks on the three leadership positions within the government had failed until now, noting that a breach might occur in next September or October.

The current situation in the country made the political situation somehow "unbalanced", stated Allawi, pointing out the situation might lead to a stall at the end of the road.

Iraq has been in a political limbo since June due to the conflict of interest amongst Iraqi parities on the issue of the new government.
