Analyst: Iraqi crisis won't be solved soon

Beirut, According to a political analyst, Iraq is threatened of a political crisis that does not seem to be resolved soon, and the danger which threatens Iraq is represented by the religious parties that have close links with Iran.

Gibran Haddad said on Friday, "The position of Iran seems very strong in Iraq, it is taking benefit from the disagreement about the government formation, while the U.S. seeks to form a government that guarantees a minimum of its interest and as soon as possible."

About the candidate that will head the government, Haddad stated,: "Ayad Allawi, for his openness as the head of a Sunni list, being a Shiite himself, and secular, must form the government. The Iraqi government doesn't need a PM who encourages the sectarianism that appeared in Iraq since the fall of the former regime. "

"Maliki turned into a difficult case due to the powers given to him after the presidency of the government, but he cannot govern the country" Haddad noted, calling "to be aware of the size of powers given to the PM."

The security in Iraq is shaken and nothing predicts the ability of the Iraqi forces to curb the deterioration of the country's security, concluded the analyst, stressing on "the need to reach an open democratic system that puts an end to reactionism and intolerance."
