Al-Maliki calls for supporting stability in Anbar

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki called on Monday for maintaining security and supporting stability in Anbar, according to a statement of his office.
“This came in a meeting chaired by al-Maliki on Monday (July 12) to discuss the security situation in Anbar,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Interior, defense ministers, Anbar governor, local council chairman, commander of operations, Anbar police chief and a number of senior police officers took part in the meeting,” the statement added.
Ramadi, the capital of Anbar, lies 110 km west of Baghdad.
