BAGHDAD, Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi on Wednesday discussed with Jeffrey Feltman, the Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, bilateral relations, according to a statement of Abdulmahdi’s office.
“Abdulmahdi received on Wednesday (June 16) at his office in Baghdad Jeffrey Feltman, with whom he discussed several issues of common interest as well as the latest developments in the region,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The meeting was attended by U.S. Ambassador in Baghdad Christopher Hill,” the statement added.
The U.S. diplomat stressed that his country does not interfere in Iraq’s internal affairs and encourages political blocs to enhance the political process to move the country into the political stability and security stage.
