BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani discussed on Wednesday with U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Christopher Hill, the latest political developments in Iraq, according to a presidential statement.
“The president underlined that talks and meetings between all political blocs concerning forming the new government still underway until reaching a joint agreement among all blocs,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The president also said that he continues his efforts within that context to form a government of national unity,” it added.
For his part, the ambassador said that his country supports the political process in the country, expressing the U.S. keenness on Iraq’s stability and prosperity.
