June 27, 2010 Syria, Iraq Review Financial Cooperation
Damascus, (SANA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri reviewed Sunday with Iraqi Finance Minster Baqir Jabr al-Zubaidi cooperation and fraternal relations between Syria and Iraq and means of developing them.
Later on, Minister of Finance Mohammed al-Hussein discussed with al-Zubaidi the positive impact of Syrian-Iraqi financial cooperation on economic relations which serve the interest of both countries.
Minister al-Hussein stressed the deep and wide-ranging Syrian-Iraqi relations.
He indicated that the two countries signed double taxation avoidance agreement (approved by law 32 for 2009) and agreements on customs cooperation, investment promotion and protection and on banking and insurance cooperation.
For his part the Iraqi Finance Minister expressed pleasure at boosting bilateral relations. He appreciated Syria's efforts in hosting the displaced Iraqis and supporting Iraq's unity and stability.
