Police: 26 killed, 53 wounded in western Baghdad dual bombing

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Twenty-six people dead and 53 injured is the most updated toll of casualties caused by the dual car bombing in the western area of the Iraqi capital, a local police source said on Sunday.

“Twenty-six were killed and 53 wounded in the synchronized car bombing that took place today near the buildings of the Iraqi Investment Bank and the Citizenship Directorate in al-Maamoon neighborhood, western Baghdad,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He noted that the blasts damaged the two buildings and tens of nearby vehicles. Earlier, the Baghdad Operations Command (BOC) said that 18 people were killed and 42 injured in the dual car bombing that took place at the western area of the Iraqi capital.
