Hamoudi urges media, people to press on politicians
BAGHDAD, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, a leading figure of the National Alliance, urged media outlets and people to press on political blocs to respect the constitution of Iraq.
“The constitution states that Iraq’s president should be chosen no later than 30 days after Parliament’s first session,” a statement issued by Hamoudi’s office quoted him as received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He called on all political blocs to give concessions to conclude the issue of Iraq’s three authorities (Presidency Board, Government’s prime minister and his two deputies, and Parliament’s Speakership) to form a new government capable of providing services to people.
