BAGHDAD, Deputy Prime Minister Rafia al-Issawi received on Monday Arab League’s envoy to Iraq, Naji Shalgham, with whom he discussed the formation of the coming government, according to a statement of his office.
“The meeting tackled also the ideas of al-Iraqiya List to overcome problems facing the formation of the new government,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“For his part, the Arab envoy underlined the Arab League’s keenness to work for strengthening Iraq’s unity,” the statement added.
“Al-Issawi held also a meeting at his office with French Ambassador in Baghdad, Boris Bwalun,” it said.
“Talks tackled the latest developments in Iraq and attempt to form the new government,” it added.

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Leading figure of Al-Iraqiya Bloc Rafie al-Issawi on Saturday received the British Ambassador to Iraq John Jenkins, and discussed with him issues related to forming a new Iraqi government.
“The meeting between the two officials took around an hour,” said a release issued by al-Issawi’s office as received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
According to the statement, the meeting underscored a number of issues related to forming the new Iraqi government, including the necessity of respecting the Iraqi constitution, in addition to the principles of democracy and peaceful transfer of power. The biggest bloc must form government and not the winning bloc in the elections ...
“The meeting stressed Al-Iraqiya Bloc’s right to form the new government, because it is the entity that has the constitutional right to start contacts to form the biggest bloc in Parliament,” the release noted.

Rafie al-Issawi said the chief of the negotiation of the Iraqi List, the list has the right to form a government according to the Constitution, he says
He stressed that the Iraqi List is not involved in the next government, but it has the constitutional right to set up, and demanded to respect other blocks of this constitutional right of the list
In return, National Coalition announced that the constitution indicates that the largest parliamentary bloc, is that a government is formed, and therefore this became the right coalition after the alliance with the rule of law, which was announced officially on the fourth of this month.
The Supreme Council has invited the leaders of Iraq on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of rapprochement between the parties, but the comments that have emerged in the wake of the meeting do not refer to the possibility of convergence is, as long as the menu insists on the formation of the Iraqi government.
