Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki's upcoming meeting with head of the Iraqiya List Ayad Allawi will be "serious" aims at addressing problems facing the government formation, Al-Maliki spokesman Ali Al-Mosawi said Sunday.
Al-Maliki is determined to have "a serious and active" meeting with Allawi to explore all problems facing the formation of the government, he told KUNA.
Informed sources, speaking to KUNA, said the meeting might take place in the next couple of days.
The Iraqiya List won the March 7 elections with 91 seats, while Al-Maliki's State of Law alliance came second with 89 seats.
