Clinton welcomes Iraq's ratification of election results

Washington. U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton on Tuesday welcomed Iraq's ratifications of the election results, said a statement released by the State Department, Xinhua News Agency informed.

"I welcome today's action by the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court certifying the results of the national election," Clinton said in the statement.

Clinton said the completion of elections process demonstrates that Iraqis want to use the political process to choose their leaders and settle differences.

She urged Iraq's political leaders to move forward immediately to form "an inclusive and representative government that will work on behalf of the Iraqi people."

The Iraqi Judicial Council ratified Tuesday the March 7 election results for all the Iraqi provinces, marking the first step toward forming the new Iraqi government.
