The statement quoted him as saying: "We received with deep sorrow and sadness the news of the assassination of MP Mohammed Bashar al-Aqidi, who passed away after a shooting incident upon by gangs of treachery and crime."
He added: "This serious incident indicate a bug in the security preparations, and breaches of computers Almtsidip to maintain the security which requires working hard to cleanse them of suspicious elements."
And demanded: "Increased vigilance and caution, especially at this sensitive stage in the country, trying to gang-Qaeda and allied with the orphans of the Baath Saddam used to destabilize the security and stability in the country, to interfere with the efforts being made to speed up the formation of the new government."
He continued: "While we strongly condemn this heinous crime, we offer our deepest condolences and sympathy to the brothers and sisters in the list and members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives and to the family of the deceased and his friends."
The Secretary-General of the Community "Iraqi" leadership in the Iraqi List, Osama Nujaifi, announced earlier yesterday that preliminary investigations into the incident point to the involvement of al-Qaeda assassination Aqidi.

Japan also condemned the assassination, and the Japanese Embassy said in a statement: "Japan is in great shock and much resentment towards the assassination of Bashar al-Aqidi candidate the winner of the Iraqi National List in Mhaaftp Nineveh.
The statement added that "terrorism can not be justified for any reason, and thus Japan renews its firm condemnation of this terrorist act, a criminal who tried to harm the democratic political process and efforts to form a new government.
He expressed the expectation that the Iraqi politicians to mitigate the impact of this criminal act and continue to make every possible effort towards the formation of the new government as soon as possible, stressing that Japan will continue to support such efforts of the Iraqi people.
