GCC finance, economy ministers meet Saturday in Riyadh
The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah said Wednesday that GCC ministers of finance and economy will hold a meeting in Riyadh-based GCC Secretairat next Saturday.
Al-Attiyah said in a press release that the meeting was vital because it would tackle several important issues, particularly preparations for the consultation summit for GCC leaders scheduled on May 11th in Riyadh.
The meeting will also discuss the result and recommendations submitted by the joint meeting of Customs managers and passport directors to ease restrictions on truck transportation within the six GCC countries, Al-Attiyah said.
The GCC Chief added that the meeting will also focus on recommendations submitted by the Customs union committee in preparation for putting it forward to the consultation summit.
The meeting will also tackle future economic issues and proposals by GCC ministers regarding GCC economy, including Qatar's view on establishing a GCC joint developmental and investment bank which would focus on education and health development, Al-Attiyah added.
