Iraq signs agreement to boost development and economic growth with the United Nations

She stressed that the agreement includes the provision of funding required for development programs by the agencies of the Organization of the UN and the international donor community, in addition to co-financing by the Government of Iraq in line with the obligations set forth in the Paris Declaration on aid effectiveness, as well as on the mobilization of private sector capacity to participate in the process of national development.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation Sami when Paul during the ceremony that the framework of the United Nations Development Assistance is the product of intensive consultation process with the government, which reflects the priorities of the five-year national development, which is the human capital actor the basic foundation for building the new Iraq.

He Paul, who signed a framework of the United Nations Development Assistance on behalf of the Iraqi government is very pleased with the signing of this framework, as the government will work here very closely with the UN and its partners to strengthen the Iraqi economy and accelerate the development process and make Iraq a better place in which men and women a decent life in peace and prosperity .

For its part, said Director General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Planning Huda Abdul Malik, we have witnessed today the signing of the Framework Agreement Strategic Program of the United Nations for the next five years after the agreements concluded on a temporary basis for a year or two, making projects and programs that stem from this strategizing with the impact of short- term and can not give sustainable solutions to the problems of economic, social and environmental.

It said in a statement summarized by the (morning) that such a framework, which was signed with the United Nations will result from the programs and projects with a recipe a long-term and taking into account sustainable development and requirements of economic growth, social development and environmental management, good governance and the role of law in it.
