5/10/2010 H.H. Amir heading of GCC meeting to ensure success -- diplomat
By Abdulrazak Al-Hezami RIYADH, May 10 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's chairmanship of the 12th consultative meeting of leaders of member countries of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) would surely ensure the success of the paramount meeting for Gulf nations' leaders, said a Kuwaiti diplomat here Monday.
Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, told KUNA that Sheikh Sabah has the experience to develop cooperation amongst GCC, Arab, and Muslim states, adding that Sheikh Sabah's experience would also add another dimension for the event.
Kuwait along with the other members of the GCC would be working on bolstering economic, monetary, commercial, and financial ties amongst them, stated the official, saying that the event would mainly focus on such aspects in addition to political occurrences in the region.
Secretary General of the GCC Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah told the press earlier that the meeting would be held for one day with no previously prepared agenda.
The meeting would discuss previous GCC resolutions, reviewing its contents to further bolster development in the region, said Al-Attiyah, adding that happenings in the region and the world would possibly be discussed.
