Dr. Rafie al-Issawi Ed Melkert meet and discuss the process of Re-counting of the province of Baghdad
HE Dr. Rafie al-Issawi in his office today the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mr. Melkert Ed.
During the meeting, they discussed the political situation in the light of the Independent Electoral Commission initiate the process of re-counting of the voting records of the Baghdad governorate.
The vice prime minister and leader of the Iraqi List, hoped not to politicize this process, stressing the importance of respecting the will of the Iraqi people to choose representatives and to overcome obstacles and political differences in order to form a government.
For his part, Melkert stressed that the United Nations will continue to provide support to the Iraqi people and they were keen to respect the decisions of the Iraqi authorities is actively looking to speed up release the results as soon as possible and the resolution of a final certification of the results.
