MOSCOW, Russia on Thursday expressed hope for the Iraqis to form a new government soon without external influence.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Andrei Nesterenko, speaking during a press briefing, said Moscow evaluated success of the elections in Iraq on basis of assessment of the Iraqi Independent Electoral Commission (IECI) and international observers that affirmed that the polling process was free of major irregularities.
Dispute among Iraqi political parties on outcome of the elections is purely an internal affair, he said, hoping the Iraqis would resolve their differences according to national laws and legislations.
Nesterenko stressed on importance of speedy formation of the government and other administrations.
