Iraq discusses the efforts of the national customs in combating fraud and counterfeiting

Part of Iraq represented by a delegation of experts in the Regional Conference for Arab States on «the efforts of the national customs in the fight against fraud and counterfeiting, to be held at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on Monday.
The head of the Intellectual Property Unit of the Arab League Dr. Maha Bakhit told a group of media, including «morning» that this meeting comes within the framework of celebration of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and Iraq was an important member of the Intellectual Property Unit of the Arab League, which continues to send the experts attending meetings of intellectual property.
Indicated to the conference, attended by a number of experts, specialists and stakeholders in the Arab world.
In addition to a number of foreign experts will present papers discussing the protection of intellectual property and meet the commercial fraud in light of the conventions and international obligations of States, indicating that the conferees will discuss the best ways to save the intellectual property rights and protect those rights, especially in customs outlets under the conventions of copyright, trademark, adding that will participate in the Conference of intellectual property departments in the bodies of Arab national customs to review their experiences, exchange expertise and experiences with the customs administrations in American and European complement to the efforts of the Arab League to raise awareness of intellectual property rights of various bodies in the Arab world.
It recalled that in 2000, the Member States of the World Intellectual Property to be 26 April every year as a day to celebrate the intellectual property, the date on which the Convention entered into force set up the organization in 1970, 40 years ago.
