Al-Atiyyah satisfied for convening of 12th consultative meeting of GCC on May 1124 April, 2010
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul Rahman al-Attiyah expressed on Saturday his happiness for the convening of the 12th Consultative Meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council which will be hosted by the Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday, May 11.
Al-Attiyah said in a press statement issued here today that the one-day meeting with no agenda is an opportunity for reviewing the march of mutual cooperation and enhancing communication between the GCC leaders.
He explained that the meeting will enable the GCC leaders to review and follow-up joint action in political, economic, security, military, social and cultural domains in order to establish greater coherence and achieve the aspirations of the GCC peoples.He added that the meeting would also review the Arab, regional and international issues of common concern.
Al-Atiyyah will start the semi-annual tour to the capitals of GCC member States at the beginning of next week to brief the leaders on the preparations and related topics of the meeting.
