An official with the Committee on electricity in the Basra Governorate Council Ziyad Ali Fadel, the arrival of the first barge to generate electric power to the port of Umm Qasr, early next week.
Fadel said that the first barge to generate electricity will reach at the beginning of next week which will dock at the port of Umm Qasr in Basra province after it took off from Turkey on the fourth of this month.
He added that the productive capacity of the barge power of 143 megawatt which is one of the reservoirs Kahrbaiitin contracted by the Ministry of Electricity to buying from a Turkish company, "indicating that" the barge second generating set off from Turkey in the first of the month of June, to reach the Iraqi ports during the period of 15 days from the marque.
He pointed out that the arrival of electric generating barges that would contribute to addressing the crisis of electricity in Basra, on the grounds that this would provide an additional generation on the national network.
