Southeast Asian states are studying ways to boost the use of local currencies in intra-regional trade, Vietnam's central bank said yesterday.
The US dollar is the dominant currency in global trade, but with the centre of economic power shifting from the West to Asia in the aftermath of the recent financial crisis, there are calls to reduce reliance on the greenback.
