4/9/2010EU-GCC political, economic dialogue in Brussels kicks off next week
BRUSSELS, The annual political and economic dialogue between the 27-member European Union and the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will take place in Brussels next week with the aim to foster cooperation and ties between the two regional groupings, sources told KUNA Friday.
A big 60-member GCC delegation will be in the Belgian capital for the two very significant meetings on Monday and Tuesday.
Kuwait which holds the current GCC Presidency will chair the political dialogue from the GCC side while Spain which holds the current EU Presidency will chair the meeting from the European side.
The economic dialogue will be chaired by the GCCs General Secretariat which is based in Saudi capital Riyadh while Spain will chair the meeting from the EU side.
The meetings will be held on the level of director generals, directors and ambassadors, said the embassy sources.
