Deputy commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, General David Kontak, Washington's commitment to withdraw by the date specified in the security agreement signed between the two countries.
He Quintak in a press statement on Wednesday that this position strengthened after the success of Iraqi forces to protect the elections, adding that U.S. troops began a gradual reduction of the numbers, the number of soldiers from 160 thousand to 96 thousand, adding that a gradual withdrawal will continue until the number of 50 thousand soldiers to the beginning of August next, denying any change in the dates of withdrawal.
