Melkert confirms the existence of a solid base to validate the election results

The representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq Ad Melkert that it is becoming a solid base to authenticate the Federal Supreme Court on the election results after the Electoral Commission for elections to complete the counting process for the elections which took place in the seventh month.
He added that the UN mission to help Iraq by providing support and impartial advice at all stages of the electoral process.
He stressed saying that the United Nations believes that the elections were credible, adding that the role of the Electoral Commission has been subjected to the difficulties and challenges but it has completed its tasks with dedication and ground-breaking elections in Iraq.
He explained that there were some defects in some places there were serious issues such as acts of intimidation that took place during the electoral process but he expressed confidence that the system contains a count of checks and balances necessary to ensure that the results of the elections will represent the voter.
