WASHINGTON - US officials will travel to Bahrain and Oman this week to participate in the Gulf Security Dialogue, the State Department announced on Monday.
Assistant Secretary for Public Diplomacy Philip J. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew Shapiro and Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Sandy Vershbow will travel to Bahrain and Oman this week to lead the fifth round of the Gulf Security Dialogue.
"The dialogue supports our enduring interest in the region, focusing on a wide range of political and military issues, including shared strategic challenges in the wider region and enhancing partnerships, in the area of security cooperation, counterterrorism, border security, nonproliferation and maritime security," concluded Crowley.
