*Politics:

ARBIL - The special voting began on Thursday morning in Iraq’s parliamentary election, which will elect a government that will guide the country, with the participation of more than 600,000 voters, head of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) said.

BAGHDAD - A total of 459 electoral centers were opened this morning to start the special voting throughout Iraq, according to the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC).

KIRKUK - A total of 11,000 policemen will take part in the special voting in Kirkuk, a local police chief said on Thursday.

DIWANIYA - The head of the al-Iraqiya electoral bloc in Diwaniya on Thursday expressed his expectations that election rigging would occur in the province.

BAGHDAD - Iraqis living abroad can use international documents for identification as part of the voting process for Iraqis living outside Iraq.

NINEWA - The Ninewa Electoral Commission on Thursday accused Iraqi army forces deployed in the province of shortages that caused a delay in opening some voting centers in Mosul city.

ANBAR - A police force managed on Thursday morning to foil an attempt to blow up a bridge in northern Ramadi, a media source said.

ANBAR - Security authorities ordered on Thursday a partial lifting of curfew on some regions in Anbar, a source from the Anbar Operations Command said.

DIALA - The gang involved in the bombings that took place yesterday in Baaquba was arrested, chief of Diala police said on Thursday.

ANBAR - The curfew imposed early Thursday on Anbar was lifted, according to a police source.

BAGHDAD - Six civilians were wounded on Thursday in an explosion in northwestern Baghdad, a police source said.

BAGHDAD - Casualties from the explosion that occurred in northeastern Baghdad this morning have risen to five dead and 22 wounded, all civilians, a police source said.

BAGHDAD - One civilian was injured on Thursday by a sticky bomb blast in central Baghdad, a police source said.

BAGHDAD - Three civilians were wounded on Thursday in an improvised explosive device blast in western Baghdad, according to a security source.

BAGHDAD - At least four soldiers were killed and ten others were wounded in a suicide explosion in central Baghdad, the third in the Iraqi capital today, a police source said.

MUTHANNA - A ban on the movement of trucks has been imposed since Thursday dawn in Diwaniya as part of the province’s election security plot.

BAGHDAD - The Oil Ministry decided to appoint all oil institutes graduates from 2005-2009 in different oil companies throughout Iraq, spokesman for the ministry said on Thursday.

BAGHDAD - The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) decided to cancel its dollar sales because of the elections holiday, a CBI’s media source said on Thursday.
