President of the Republic confirms that the seventh of March is a historic day and the winner is the Iraqi people and the political blocs to respect the election results
Called Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, the broad participation of citizens in the parliamentary elections and urged all political groups to respect the results.
Talabani told reporters, "Today is a historic day and the winner is the people and the Iraqi Kurds, Arabs and all other minorities with the hope that the elections are good, peaceful and quiet and to respect all the results," after casting his vote at a polling station in the city of Sulaymaniyah.
"I do not think that these elections will change the political map in Iraq may arise minor changes but I think the underlying forces that now control that will also govern in the future with a number of other forces that want to participate in government."
The president called to active participation and wide in this election crucial to decide the future of democracy in Iraq, hoping the success of the Iraqi people.
