Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on election day as "national epic".
Maliki said in a speech addressed to the Iraqi people on the occasion of the end of the election process: "The election day was also a defeat for terrorism and those who stand against the will of the people and not happy to see democracy and freedom", asserting that "the failure of the plans and the challenges of terrorism."
Maliki, thanks and appreciation to the troops and police who provided security environment for the success of the electoral process.
He called on the political blocs to work hard to compensate for the deprivation suffered by the Iraqi people from dictatorship and criminal gangs.
