A joint statement by Ambassador Christopher Hill and Gen. Ray Odierno on
الانتخابات البرلمانية في العراق Parliamentary elections in Iraq
Congratulates the Embassy of the United States and U.S. forces in Iraq's Electoral Commission Ankhabat to complete the counting for the elections VII of the March parliamentary elections.
Announce the results today, Iraq has made significant progress in this historic election process.
We support the decisions of international observers and independent Iraq, and who have confirmed the full confidence of election integrity in general, and there was not any evidence of the existence of any widespread fraud, or large.
We urge the political entities using the mechanisms of Independent High Electoral Commission for elections to register any objections or complaints, and to accept the election results documented at the Iraqi judiciary.
We encourage political entities to hold talks on forming a new government in a spirit of cooperation and respect for the will of the voters, and to refrain from provocative speeches and actions.
