Abdul Rahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf states, that the Committee of Ministers of the chairmen of the bodies of the capital markets of the Gulf Cooperation Council Gulf Arab states will hold its first meeting next Wednesday (March 31) in Riyadh.
The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council that the Committee of Ministers will discuss the integration of financial markets and seek to standardize policies and regulations relating thereto.
The al-Attiyah said the meeting comes in the context of interest in the development of integration of financial markets in the GCC States and standardize policies and related regulations due to the extreme importance of these issues and set forth in the Convention of Economic Cooperation Council countries to activate the GCC common market and benefiting from them and move forward in the monetary union, and this was confirmed by the Council the highest in its thirtieth session (Kuwait - December 2009) commissioned by relevant ministerial committees, each for its part, the necessary mechanisms to activate Article (fifth) of the Convention on the promotion of the economic environment of investment between the GCC countries, including the provisions of paragraph (third) of the article on "Integration financial markets in the GCC countries and harmonization of policies and regulations relating to them. "
